Home for the holidays

Home for the Holidays is an annual winter event run by Blacksburg High School DECA that supplies enough food for 200 elementary and middle school kids who receive free or reduced lunch at school, but who don’t get those lunches during the holiday break.

BHS DECA performs this service project in memory of Ayesha Wintersdorff, a BHS DECA Officer and students, who was tragically lost as a result of a car accident in June 2008.

In order for this project to be a success, we need the community's help to sponsor bags for our local children. Each bag sponsorship will cost around $35 and will support one student on free/reduced lunch. Out goal for Home for the Holidays is to feed as many families in need as possible, which is only achieved with your help. Donations can be made by check (made payable to BHS) and also through MySchoolBucks - DECA (MySchoolBucks does charge a 4.75% fee). Any and all donations are greatly appreciated.
